Having hailed from Nova Scotia, Al drew inspiration from his roots, aptly naming his company Bluenose, after the famous schooner that also originated in Al’s home province. Though deeply attached to his roots, itchy feet eventually propelled him westward, and the beauty of Vancouver Island seduced him immediately. Al arrived on the Island in 1995, at which point he began working for the Jim Pattison Group.
